Waxing Hair Removal For Women

Hair Removal For Women

Waxing is a form of  hair removal that women have been using forever. We use a wax that is warm (but not hot). The wax is gentle enough for eyebrows and face waxing, yet strong enough for brazilian bikini and body hair removal. It is suitable for all skin types and hairs.

Waxing works by removing the hair from the root for a smoother look and longer lasting results.

Our Waxing Services For Women Include

Face wax, eyebrow waxing, upper lip wax, cheeks, chin, throat, underarm waxing, arms, stomach, bikini line hair removal, brazilian bikini, body wax, leg waxing, feet, fingers and toes, whole body wax.

Benefits of Waxing

Waxing is by far the best choice for beautiful eyebrows. I recommend waxing your brows every three weeks, even if you don’t have a lot of hair. They will grow in, fill in and look much better a year from now. Using a good hair growth serum on your brows is also very beneficial.

All hairs on your body, including your eyelashes, grow in three stages.

  1. Anagen
  2. Catagen
  3. Telogen

After waxing the hairs grow back more slowly. After waxing, you will have longer hairs that can be waxed off easily, then very short ones that might still be too short to be removed. Usually there are not too many short ones left behind. There are the others that are still under the skin.

This means that, if this is your first wax treatment, you may find that some hairs are too short to be removed, or new hairs appear just a week or two after waxing. This cannot be avoided. It will take a few regular wax sessions before it is more balanced.

Waxing doesn’t just remove your hair, it also removes your dead skin cells, so your skin will feel smoother and cleaner.

Many people find hair removal methods like shaving, epilation and hair removal creams irritate the skin. Our wax rarely causes irritation, but there are no guarantees. Everybody’s skin is different. The quality of the wax also has a lot to do with it. We use high quality wax.

Since your hair is being removed by the root, it will take much longer for the hairs to grow back than it does with shaving or any other do-it-yourself product .

After your first wax treatment, it gets easier each time. Waxing on a regular basis is important to keep things tidy. It also means less discomfort each time.

Shaving or Waxing the Bikini Area?

I am always amazed how many people are still shaving this delicate part of the body. Waxing is by far a better choice. Bikini, and especially Brazilian waxing has become a huge trend for women of all ages. Whether it’s your first waxing experience or not, here are some insights.

Getting your bikini area waxed by a professional can truly be the best treat for yourself. Most ladies find themselves more pleased with the results of waxing than using any other type of the do-it-yourself hair removal products out there. Waxing provides smoother, longer lasting results. Shaving cuts the hair at the skin’s surface where the hair is the thickest. This can cause a prickly feeling, itching, skin irritation, and even ingrown hairs a few days after shaving.

What’s the Difference Between Bikini Waxing and a Brazilian?

Waxing the bikini line usually means tidying up the sides near your panty line, and maybe a bit across the top. Depending on the technician, she might remove a bit more on the sides and all the way to the back to prevent any hairs from “peeking out”.

A brazilian goes from the front, all the way to the back with an added strip off the butt for a complete nude look. It depends which style you prefer, you can choose to leave a well groomed triangle or a strip of hair on the front. Just make sure you tell the technician what you want right at the beginning of your waxing session.

Things You Need To Know

Make sure your skin is clean.
Your hair should be at least 2mm long.
Stop shaving for two weeks prior to waxing, especially if you want to have a brazilian bikini wax.
For best results do not apply any moisturizer or oil to the area before waxing.
Waxing intervals should be four to six weeks.
Redness after waxing is normal. It usually goes away in an hour or so.
After waxing, I treat the skin with antiseptic and antibacterial products. After this, we apply an additional solution to soothe irritation. Some people get bumps or an irritation after waxing. Don’t panic. Clean the area with Hydrogen Peroxide. Apply a soothing lotion like aloe vera or a healing cream.
Avoid working out, sweating, swimming, tanning or sun exposure for at least 24 hours after waxing to prevent chafing, breakouts and irritation.
Exfoliate your skin on a regular basis to avoid ingrown hairs.
Do NOT use any alcohol based products or deodorant on the waxed area for 24 hours.
Do NOT wax if you are on acne medication. The medication thins the skin and the gentlest wax can take your skin off especially on your eyebrows and face.
Do NOT wax after chemotherapy for at least six months.
Do not wax your face if you are using a retinol cream. Some people get bumps or an irritation after waxing. Don’t panic, just clean the area with Hydrogen Peroxide and apply Aloe or Polysporin to soothe the skin.

Cost of Waxing

Waxing prices depend on the area that’s being treated, and vary from salon to salon depending on the products being used. As with anything, there are choices. Some places use a lower, less expensive product than others. That will be reflected in the price.
We use really good wax. Our clients often comment that they feel the difference if they have been waxed somewhere else before.
