Eyebrow Shaping
Eyebrow Shaping
Let’s focus on your eyebrows
Eyebrows are one of the most noticed features on your face. Keeping them well groomed is essential. The better they look – the better you look. One small but amazing change can come as a result of proper eyebrow shaping.
Eyebrows give a face “Character”
Whether you have very fair, thin, thinning or really bushy eyebrows, they can be shaped to emphasize your best features – Your Eyes! Getting your eyebrows professionally shaped is like getting a facelift, that’s how much of a difference it makes to one’s face.
Eyebrow arching and shaping
For a start NEVER shave your eyebrows! Tweezing your eyebrows yourself is an option. Take a cotton pad, moisten it with Hydrogen Peroxide and disinfect the area all around the brows. Take the Tweezer, wipe it with Alcohol to keep it all clean. Start with the stray hairs under your brows. Grab one by one and pull them out in the direction they are growing. Make sure you don’t pull out too many. Keep both sides the same. When you’re done, wipe the area with a cotton pad using Witch Hazel or Hydrogen Peroxide. Finish off with a soothing ointment. Tweezing is great, but it will never give the clean appearance waxing can give.
Eyebrow shaping is an art
Did you know that there are Professionals in California who specialize in Eyebrow shaping? People pay a fortune to get their eyebrows done.
Most men are not comfortable with too much shaping. They just like their bushy eyebrows to be “cleaned up”.
Eyebrows should suit your face
Consult an esthetician to discuss it.
For eyebrows not to look too “manicured”, start by trimming back the long hair and cut them in the direction they grow. If you have a “unibrow” get the middle part waxed to get a clean appearance. You may need a bit of waxing underneath or above your eyebrows to get a cleaned up look.
Eyebrows should be waxed every 3 weeks. If you have really coarse, thick eyebrows you may want to get them done every 2 weeks.
Does waxing hurt?
Yes, especially the first time, but the pain wont last. The wax, the pulling and the sensitivity of your skin also matter. The skin stays red for a short while. You can soothe the skin by applying a bit of ointment right after waxing. Tweezing is painful too. For some people tweezing is worst than waxing.
If you’ve over plucked your eyebrows
Colour them in with a soft coloured-eyeshadow while they’re growing back in or use one of the many brow products available today. Create a softer, more natural but precise look, or go for a bolder look. The best way to let your eyebrows grow back in is to pluck only the stray hairs out, but leave a row or 2 of hairs right under the brows so that they can grow in. That way it wont look so messy.
