Thai Yoga Massage

What is it?

It can be traced back 2500 years. A therapeutic Thai Yoga Massage comes from the Indian tradition of Ayurveda.
Ayur, means “life” and veda means “knowledge”. It acts as a guide to the proper maintenance of life.

Ayurveda originated in the rich, ancient traditions of India and is the science of healthy living. It touches the physical, mental, social and spiritual aspects of life and existence. The wholesome lifestyle and eternal principles guide you towards harmony with your surroundings and true inner self.
Ayurveda promotes positive health, wellness and longevity.

During a thai massage, the practitioner guides the client through a series of yoga postures while working along the body’s “SEN” or energy lines and pressure points. Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body’s energy. The treatment is combined with ancient and modern techniques.

According to Ayurveda, each person is composed of one or a combination of three doshas or body types.

Vata stands for air-ether, pitta is fire-water and-or kapha which represents earth-water. Using the ancient knowledge of the tridoshas enables practitioners to treat each person according to their unique constitution.

Each pose, rhythm and intensity is guided by Ayurvedic principles: i.e. slow and gentle for vata, relaxing for pitta and energetic and uplifting for kapha.

Yoga, with the gentle therapies and holistic regime of Ayurveda, under expert guidance in a calm, beautiful setting facilitate a lifestyle, oriented towards optimal health and inner harmony.

Thai Yoga Massage is performed on a mat on the floor. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing in order to be able to move and be flexible.

Some people I talked to said that “in their experience”, the Thai Yoga Massage was the best massage they ever had.

I recommend you try one. It is a great experience, whether you are an athlete, sit behind a computer all day, or if you have aches and pains and cannot move all that well. One thing is clear, you don’t want to lose motion as you get older. Try it, be open and see how you feel after a few treatments.

Be well.

Be a Perfect “10”
