Artificial Nails, Gel Nails, Nail Extensions

Getting strong nails, have beautiful hands and perfectly manicured nails is of interest to many of us.

Artificial nails are very popular and desireable for people with busy lifestyles and for people who have trouble growing their own nails or if you are a nail biter who wants to stop biting their nails. Professional nail tips always look perfect. For most people the polish lasts 2 - 3 weeks without chipping and you'll always have beautiful hands wherever you go. What a relief! You just have to get your artificial nails refilled and maintained regularly. It breaks the nail biting habit and nail pickers - try to stop picking nails.

Worries about fake nails - if artificial nails are applied properly, they are not damaging to your nails. However, there are many different types of nails - acrylic nails, gel nails, solar nails, liquid nails, silk wrap nails and others. Some of them are more popular than others. At L'Exquisite we prefer the uv gel nail. They won't improve your natural nails or make them "healthier", but they will strengthen your nails and you'll be amazed to see your natural nail growth. Once we remove artificial nails with the proper solution, your own nails will always grow back in the same condition they were in before the artificial nail tips were applied.

Your natural nails consist of 5 layers of dead skin and do NOT breath!

Artificial Gel Nails vs Natural Nails

Choosing to wear artificial nails also means having to keep up with the maintenance. Some people like to have them done every 2 weeks. That's often a personal preference. People who are very hard on their nails or have very small nail beds or nail biters may have to get them maintained every two weeks. You may opt to have a professional manicure after two weeks and a refill after the following two weeks or a fill every two weeks. It really depends on the client's condition of the nail and lifestyle.

If you chose to remove artificial nails, your natural nails will return to the same condition they were in before, just like your hair will grow back in its normal color or your tinted lashes will go back to normal.

We hear stories about nails hurting after the artificial nails were put on. When applied by a well trained professional, the nails or nailbeds should not hurt! There's no need to file too much off your natural nail even if the nails are done with a drill or nail machine. If you've been hurt in the past, spend a little more and go with someone who knows what they're doing. Fast and cheap is not always the best. At least try a better place to see the difference.

When a nail technician files your artificial nails by hand, the files have to be sharp and your cuticles might get a cut.

Some people take good care of their nails at home as well. Let your nail technician show you how. It is a good idea to apply a good nail and cuticle oil and a good hand cream everyday.

There are many different kinds of nails out there and many different price ranges.

The quality of the nail products and the experience of the person applying them make a difference in the price you pay.

After over 20 years of experience and having tried many different products I must say I personally preferred Fiberglass nails for the longest time. However, like everything else, things change and I moved on to gel nails.

Gorgeous, beautiful, natural looking artificial nails!
Simply exquisite!

We're offering a gentle artificial gel nail system that works really well as just an overlay over natural nails. It lasts a long time and helps your own nails to grow beautifully. We have another type of gel that can be applied over nail tips or nail extensions. This type of nail application requires no harmful, smelly liquid and not much filing. The procedure is gentle on your natural nails, the artificial nails are thin and beautiful and do not yellow. They look and feel like your own right from the start and look gorgeous with or without nail polish. You have a choice between a natural or a french tip finish. Maintenance should be done every 2 - 3 weeks. Of course you can wear nail polish. We carry China Glaze which is equivalent or better compared to OPI.

Call us for an appointment. You'll need about 90 minutes to get your nails done. 905-827-2222.

We now have clients come from everywhere. Mississauga, Burlington, Toronto, GTA, Guelph, Hamilton and several other places who wanted to give our Exquisite Nails a try.

There are many different types of nails available.
Gel nails have a high gloss finish, but can also be matte. It depends on the client's preference. There are various types of gel nail systems available. Non-toxic gel systems that are flexible, durable and organic based. The gel gets brushed onto the natural nails or over tips, then gets cured under a UV light.

We have a gel system to repair broken or torn nails.
For example, if you have fungus, or have lost part of your finger nail or toe nail, we can apply the gel right over your skin and make the nail look like your own, while the anti fungal ingredient in the gel helps your own nail to grow back healthy. We also recommend using our medicated nail and skin oil daily to help the healing process and restore the nails. Acrylic nails are usually applied with a brush, powder and liquid. Fiberlass nails have a thin layer of mesh over the nail tips that becomes transparent. A silk wrap is similar but has a tighter weave, this is thicker.

Generally speaking, people are happy if the nails are thin, nice and stay on.

What are nail bars?
Nail bars are the new trend that also comes from California. A nail bar is a hot spot that caters to the consumers demand for high-end, personalized wellness and beauty. Spas are another example of that trend. People from all walks of life are aware of the fact that self-image, health and wellness is a necessity, not a luxury, especially since peoples lives are busy and stressful and our life expectancy is growing with every decade.

Removing Artificial Nails

How to remove acrylic nails or any other type of fingernail? If you decide to remove your artificial nails we recommend getting them taken off by a professional in order to do the least amount of damage to your natural nails. Some of the nail products require a special solution to get a particular nail product off.

Once the artificial nails are taken off your natural nails will feel soft. I definitely recommend applying a coat of our nail growth system and a medicated nail and cuticle oil at least once a day, preferably at night, to get your natural nails to the most perfect condition possible. It works even better if you can apply the medicated nail oil at least twice a day.

These products are also very helpful in clearing up nail fungus.

File your nails straight across and keep the edges smooth. Apply a nice nail colour when you go out. That'll make you feel better. We love China Glaze nail polish and we also carry a few colours of a private label. No need to be boring. You can apply nice bright colours to short nails and all sorts of sparkles and designs. It just wont last as long as it does on artificial nails. Either way you'll need maintenance.

It takes 3 - 4 months for your natural nails to grow full cycle! It may take up to a year to get your nails back into shape if your nails are detached from the nail beds.
